Mexico’s Investor Club, “MIC” began in 2008 as the first professionally managed investment network. More than US $33.45M have been invested through 103 transactions in 46 different projects, of which 13 are portfolio companies of AV Fund I LP and 4 are led by women. In 2015 the MIC was renamed, now AV Network, in order to refine and update the database as well as to launch new benefits offered to its members. The network has more than 440 members in Latin America, many of them at the board and management levels in various multinational companies. The ultimate goal is to link AV Network great ideas with capital. In  2018, the network has invested more than US $250K in 3 projects. AV Network is exclusive, invitation-only, free, and is not transferable. Members fill out a survey in which they detail their interest in projects highlighting those industries that seem interesting.

AV adds value to the members of the network in the following ways:

AV Network Guadalajara has been active since 2014. They have analyzed more than 900 projects, shared more than 150, and helped 11 startups to raise their first round through their network, 3 of those startups are from outside Mexico. Since their earliest days, Guadalajara’s office has collaborated closely with other angel networks, funds, incubators, and accelerators across the region. They are founding members of Xcala (BID Lab + IEEEM), along with other angel networks across Latin America and The Caribbean. AV Network Guadalajara has more than 50 active investors, of which 24% are international.

Angel Ventures launched in Lima in 2014. The Lima office currently manages co-investment syndicate vehicles and facilitates direct investments by angel investors who are part of AV Network. In 2019, the Lima office led or facilitated investments of $1 million in 11 startups. Of the investments made by managed funds and syndicates, 46% of capital was invested behind startups led by women. During 2018 and 2019, Angel Ventures team in Lima acted as program managers for the Pitch Competition of WeXchange. Angel Ventures is a founding member of PECAP, the Peruvian Seed Capital and Entrepreneur Association.
